Arrival of the cranes in Laem Chabang on Dock Express
10
Project Summary
Argonautics Marine Engineering was
involved in the delivery of 2 new container cranes to the port of Laem
Chabang in Thailand in July 2004. The cranes were built by Mitsui Engineering &
Shipbuilding at their new yard in Oita, Japan. Both cranes were loaded
onto the heavy-lift ship Dock Express 10, using the forklift
method. Upon securing of the cranes and the associated loose cargo, the
ship departed with destination Thailand, where it arrived 9 days later.
After arrival at the LCIT terminal
in Laem Chabang, preparations for offloading commenced immediately, and
only 3 days later, both cranes were safely offloaded and in
process of being commissioned.
